project g

you might be thinking the title is outdated, with a new child in the mix & whatnot. i've been racking my brain for a few months now for a new witty title like "project gabucas". but you know what? "g" can stand for many things like "GOD help me", "GEE I love the craziness of parenting a preschooler & kindergartener + commuting 100+ miles a day for work", or "GOT more wine?" ...

Our weekend, the photo recap

Hello! Mom and dad, yes all is well-- just a little busy trying to keep my head above water during these crazy days-- but calmer water lies ahead (Thursday, to be more specific).

Despite my lack of time (and sleep, oh precious sleep) I find it amazing all that I am able to cram into a teeny tiny little weekend. Two days weekend are for the birds. THE BIRDS.

My Friday night. I spent the evening cozying up to my computer, cranking the work out in order to have some family time on Saturday.
And what says "quality time" better than a family trip to IKEA? G had his head buried in Angry Birds so I'm not sure he even knows we were there* but Lukie on the other hand, OMG, he literally was running though and commenting on each room design, it was like the Disneyland of furniture. Too cute.
The kiddo carts are a cute idea. But what kid doesn't want to run with wind w/these things?
Yoga is doing a 30 day challenge which of course I knew I couldn't complete primarily because a) I'm not sure I really WANT to do hot yoga 30 times in 31 days, b) Even if I did, who has 2 free hours per day? and 3) It's session. SO I was realistic and aimed for 10 days. Today was my last day for the month (work is psychotic, see picture A) and I managed 14 classes in 29 days. Not bad, eh?
Hello there, sassy chair. We made a family trip to work so Chuck could so lovingly (and patiently) assemble my chair that so conveniently turns into a bed!
Pondering his future. Lawyer? Lawmaker or both?
Which version of the picture do you like better?

There is always time for cookie makin'. I am working on perfecting my chocolate chip cookie. I am close. It needs to be nice & chocolately, on the thicker side (but not too cakey) and slightly chewy.

And that concludes our weekend. No pictures of us cleaning the house because, unfortunately, that just didn't happpen. Such is life. BUT, I did go grocery shopping and did several loads of laundry, lest you think I'm slacking on the domestic side of things.

*Son 1 is in full on Angry Bird must-reach-the-top-level obsession. He's always been pretty good at not playing games for too long but all of a sudden it's become a s-i-t-ua-t-i-o-n and so the iTouch has been repo'd by the original owners (us).
